Comfylux slippers have different degrees of foaming in different parts of the rubber sole, so there it gives a little under-foot as you walk, but the outer part of the rubber is still hard enough to use indoors.
The heel support is part of the same rubber, and pops-up however many times you step on it, making this a safe brand of slipper to wear as well as a comfortable one.
Diabetes UK has a website section on trying to reverse Diabetes as well as putting some videos online. Their suggested recipes include vegan ones, and Veganrecipeclub.org/recipes has similar ones.
This style isn't sold as washable because the insole is glued-in and would quite likely come loose and curl-up. Also, there are no instructions about washing the elastic. The slippers should survive a quick rinse, though, in water no hotter than hand-hot, if you are prepared to change the insoles should the come loose.
